Course Content:
• All the aspects of dairy management will be covered in this course like
• Selection of animals and breed
• Breeding techniques, Calf management, and management of herds
• Housing of dairy animals including loose housing and other management practices
• Feed and fodder management, cultivation of improved fodder, Silage and Azolla production, preparation of homemade feed and feed formulations
• Management of ecto-endo parasite, diseases and other physiological disorder
• Clean milk production, value addition, marketing etc.
• Preparation of project, finance, schemes and programmes of funding agencies

Information about the Course:
Dairy is the major agrobased enterprise which gives assured income in rural area. However with much knowledge and skill about dairy, many farmer and youth are doing this enterprise Due to which milk production is declining. Feeding and breed management, repeat breeding, low fat percentage and endo-ecto parasites and mastitis, out break of the diseases are also the major problems. There is good scope to increase this enterprise as it requires less land and water. Similarly demand for milk and milk product is increasing. However, there is need to start this enterprise with proper knowledge of housing breeding feeding and other management practices Dairy should be the more income generating enterprise rather than only rearing few herds with the farming

Outcome:
Trainees after undergoing training will be able to start his own dairy unit, marketing of milk and dairy products. He will earn Rs.5000-10000 /month
