The Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Babhaleshwar, Dist. Ahmednagar, Maharashtra was chosen for the prestigious Best KVK Award for the Biennium 1998-1999. The award is instituted by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research; New Delhi which is bestowed once in two years to recognize excellence and innovations in Technology Dissemination by KVK among 461 KVKs functioning all over the Country.
The citation reads the Best KVK Award for the Biennium 1998-1999 is presented to Krishi Vigyan Kendra, PIRENS, Babhaleshwar, Dt. Ahmednagar Maharashtra for outstanding contribution in Technology Transfer, Refinement and Training.
The Best KVK Award was presented to the KVK on 17 July 2000 at the auspicious hands of the then President of ICAR and Minister for Agriculture, Honorable Shri Nitish Kumarji and Dr. RS Paroda, DG, ICAR and Secretary, DARE, Ministry of Agriculture. The award ceremony was held at Vigyan Bhawan on following day of raising day of ICAR on 17 July 2000. During the year 2010, ICAR decided to give Zonal Best KVK Award and select the National Best KVK Award from the Zonal Best KVK Awards. During the year 2010, first Best Zonal KVK Award is also received by KVK Babhaleshwar. This Award was presented to Chief Scientist KVK during the KVKs National Conference held at Udaipur. During the year 2011, ICAR selected KVK, Babhaleshwar for National Best KVK Award. On the occasion of National Conference of KVKs held at Ludhiana. By considering various innovative and intensive agricultural activities, Agriculture Department, Government of Maharashtra has given very prestigious Krishi Ratna Award for the year 2013 to PIRENS with the auspicious hands of Chief Minister and Agriculture Minister, Government of Maharashtra. Besides these awards, KVK has been appreciated at many Dias and Forum. KVK got opportunities to work as Member in different committees including Planning Commission, Government of India. Similarly technology developed and promoted by KVK also got opportunity to exhibit at International and National Exhibitions. The farmers, farmwomen as well as agripreneurs who are nurtured in the KVK were also awarded and appreciated at State as well as National Level.
