Infrastructural facilities are a prerequisite to carry out the multifarious activities in the KVK. Emphasizing this, the KVK has given majorthrust to develop the infrastructure facilities. Administrative block, hostel and staff quarters are the three basic facilities developed in view of the present as well as future needs. In administrative block each department has been given sufficient area for their activities. Two lecture halls, one conference hall and one auditorium with 300 seating capacity are being utilized as per needs and requirements of participants. One library for the farmers and laboratory as per the needs of the department were also developed. The Administrative building is having total area of 10,500 sq. ft. Hostel facilities including lodging and boarding have been developed for 60 participants. One an average 60 to 70 per cent utilization of the hostel facilities due to various on campus training programmes is observed. Total area of the hostel is 6000 sq. ft. In view of the additional activities of the KVK and future plans, KVK has developed Information and Biotechnology Center. In this center bioagents production, quality testing, certification is being carried out.

In this Information Technology Center all the facilities regarding the information communication technology has been developed like KVK Pravara COMMUNITY Radio Center, Library and IT Center for farmers, exhibition center, conference hall and other activities for faster communication of the technology. This center is constructed on 14,000 sq. ft. area. KVK has developed all these facilities separately as a KVK campus.

Instructional Units

Vermicompost Unit

To convert crop residue in organic manure/ compost, earthworm plays important role through which we can produce vermicompost.  With vermicompost self employment in rural area is possible.  Therefore, KVK established vermicompost unit during the year 1996 of 50 t/annum capacity.

Biopesticides

As per the problems of the major crops and the available technology to control the pests and diseases. KVK has started the production of bio-pesticides like trichoderma, verticilium, paecilomyces, nomuraea, beauveria basiana from 1998 on large scale.  Good quality, fresh bo-pesticides have helped to give effective control of pests & diseases.

Bio-fertilizers

With increasing awareness among the farmers due to various programmes implemented by KVK, State Agriculture Department and SAU, there was ahigher demand from the farmers for bio-fertilizers.  However availability of fresh and good quality bio-fertilizers in rural area was a main problem.

Goat Unit

The KVK started goat unit to impart the skill for rural youths so that they can start their own goat units.  For imparting skill to rural youths, KVK started goat unit during the year 1998.  KVK introduced Osmanabadi and Boar breed in this unit.  Similarly trained 709 rural youths through this unit

Poultry Unit
