KVK started KVK PRAVARA COMMUNITY RADIO on 1st Ocober 2009 to provide the information in the format preferred by beneficiaries as per their convenience and demand. Small and marginal farmers, landless labors are the target group whereas more focus is given on rural youths and women which are being neglected by the present information dissemination system. This radio is 100 per cent focusing on local issues, problems, solutions, success stories, failure or any location specific information.

Outreach of 50 watt CRS is about 15 to 20 kms. However, due to plain area with good quality equipments, transmitters and antenna, the outreach of this KVK CRS is about 25 to 30 kms. radius area. This KVK is having strategic location from where five tehsils places are in the radius of 25 to 30 km. This has helped to reach KVK CRS in 5 tehsils out of 14 tehsils of the district.
Ahmednagar district is having 1588 villages with 40.88 lakh population of which 80 per cent are living in the rural area. CRS is able to cover 214 villages of 5 tehsils reaching 8.56 lakh populations which are mostly from the rural area.
The district has three agro climatic zones of which one agro climatic zone is of scarcity zone occupies 90 per cent area.
